Who were the writers of hairspray with Zac Efron?

Zac didn't write Hairspray...John Waters did.

Zac was just cast as Link Larkin in the movie, he had no part in writing it.

Actually, John Waters wrote (and directed) the first movie Hairspray. That was adapted for a Broadway play. Then the new movie Hairspray was based on the play. I can't read the small print on the DVD jacket to identify the writers of Hairspray 2007, and I'm too lazy to put it into the player and read the credits.
