It is because you aren't battling anything or are already level 100. If you are playing Pokemon Black on a flash cart, there is an Anti Piracy measure in place that prevents you from gaining exp. If so, please support the developers and buy the official release.

∙ 10y agoPokemon Black and White onwards have a different EXP table to previous Pokemon games, the higher the level the lower the amount of EXP they gain from a Pokemon Battle. (Before you would get the same EXP amount every level).

∙ 9y agoBecause the White game you're playing is a pirated copy. Pirated copies of White don't allow Pokemon to gain experience points.

Either train them up normally, use an action replay and use the super xp gain cheat (with this trainer battles give you more xp than a wild battle) or rare candy your Pokemon (this will make them very weak) I would recommend the xp cheat or level them up legitimatelly as they will be stronger and friendlier to you :)

No. A pokemon only has the xp boost when training with a trainer who didn't catch them. ie. On platinum, if you caught the pokemon it does not get xp boost. When you trade it over to silver, the silver trainer did not catch it so it gets xp boost. but when traded back to platinum, it is back with the trainer who caught it and therefore does not get xp boost.
