Well, really, it's just because Samuel L. Jackson asked for a purple lightsaber because it's his favorite color.
That could be true, but I read something that Samuel L. Jackson just asked for a different color lightsaber just so he could stand out. But it never said about him asking for a purple lightsaber just because it is his favorite color.
Eh. You could argue either side, I guess.. But I've only heard about him wanting to stand out once, and I've heard it was his favorite color quite a few times.
In every movie he starred in he asked for some prop of his to be purple. Probably because he wanted to stand out and because it was his favorite color.
Mace windu from the star wars prequel triology films. There are also many people in the book sequels that have purple lightsabers like Kyp Durron, Jaina Solo and Anakin Solo... PS. i did not make these people up they are part of the main series of books that take place after Return of the Jedi and they are canon.
General Greveious only because heez got lightsabers but if Barakas claws were lightsabers still G.G. but still good fight
He collects their lightsabers.
people say yes but in like 35 years...........posted 2011
It would make more sense if her lightsaber was purple. It is the girlyest color of known lightsabers. No offense Samuel L. Jackson. Though it is possible that Disney will give her a pink one in the new movie current and/or flashbacks.
Jedi is good. Sith is bad. Jedis have blue green or purple lightsabers, while Siths have red lightsabers.
no starwars lightsabers would be to and to heavy, but if you wanted to extend comedy then cartoon star wars will have squirrels with lightsabers

purple, red , blue , and green BUT if you read the books and play the video games, you will learn that there are also yellow, silver, orange, and black.
No
They first used steel swords, then experimented with what they called "Frozen Blaster" technology, but these early Lightsabers were bulky and required a cable attached to a power pack on the Jedi's belt. Further experimentation led to Lightsabers.
YEAH!
Force FX lightsabers are far from childrens toys. They are fairly expensive, and are for serious collectors.
Each lightsaber contains a crystal, unique to the jedi/sith that wields it. To complete their jedi training, a jedi must find the crystal to complete the construction of their own lightsaber. In the early days of the galaxy, the Sith had both purple and red lightsabers, while the jedi have yellow, blue, and green. Later on, the Sith abandoned (for the most part) purple lightsabers, and jedis that are on the light-side of the force, but can also wield dark-side powers for good purposes, wield a purple lightsaber. Mace Windu, for example, uses a purple lightsaber because he can also use the dark side; his lightsaber form requires him to use it.
yes they are
Yes they are.
No they can't
