Acting out is also commonly used as a defense mechanism to cover short comings and lack of learning 'life skills.' The best answer is not always the first one that comes to mind. Reasons for this bad behavior are sometimes buried deep.
Students also fail to understand the concept of "WE" instead of "ME" As a result they lack the ability to understand ( much less appreciate ) the fact that their actions can and do affect others.
A good example of the lack of LIFE SKILLS is the amount of information young people are posting on Facebook. It will be interesting to see the changes this makes in 20 or 30 years. Posting half naked selfie's and drunken adventures could return to haunt someone for decades to come.
This is particularly distressing when a moment or two of clear thinking and the use of common sense is a minor investment compared to a lifetime of regret and embarrassment.
