Why aren't the Dursley's in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?

The Dursley family do appear in the book, but their scenes were cut from the movie. This was presumably because they weren't considered important and the screenwriter and director wanted to save time.

∙ 6y agoFred and George "accidentally" dropped toffees in front of Dudley, who was on a very strict diet and promptly ate one of the toffees causing his tongue to rapidly grow. The Dursley's panicked and Mr Weasley pulled out his wand in order to reverse the spell, but the Dursley's deep distrust of magic caused them to panic even more and refuse Mr Weasley's help. Eventually, he managed to convince them to let him help, probably because they didn't know how else they were going to shrink their son's tongue.
