Yes. Bathilda Bagshot was murdered in her own home through use of dark magic: either at the hands of Lord Voldemort or his death eaters. Her body was then controlled by Voldemort's, Nagini, so that when Harry Potter arrived Voldemort would know and Nagini could attack.
