Hitler rose to power during the Great Depression, which affected every country around the world. The Germans were demoralized and they blamed their government for Germany's defeat during World War I. Because most people were poor and homeless from the economic depression, they needed new guidance. Some Germans rebelled against their old democratic government and the Nazi party quickly rose to power, conforming to a new militaristic and expansionist government called fascism. It was like a last bit of hope for the Germans, that breaking the rules and rebuilding the military will help them conquer again and make them have pride. Through Hitler's actions against the old democratic government and through his public speeches, Germans quickly admitted him.
