Uh, 'cause he had a mid-life crisis and thinks that marrying someone Asian is exotic. Nevermind that the woman is young enough to be his daughter and has had her face surgically reinvented.

He's an old fart and, without his money and connections, she would have trolled for someone else.

I'm 38, good-looking, professional, married, and have kids, and I wouldn't look twice at an man 20+ years older than I am. Women outlive men by 9.2 years, and widowhood isn't any fun, either.

This is the best I can do because I don't even know much about either. I've only seen Julie Chen, once, on Letterman, and I marvelled that I couldn't see her eyes because her false eyelashes were so dense. It was weird, like looking at a mannequin.

A comment on the above. With the infidelity issues aside, why do people see a biracial couple as one people exotic as if an Asian woman is some sub-human animal that was caught in the wild and brought to civilized world.

So, what if you couldn't see her eyes. That's kind of one of many differences between different races. It's stating the obvious much like if you were to blurt out, how you marveled how African people have darker skin than you. So?
