Why did Percy Jackson say no to immortality?

Oh, dude, Percy Jackson said no to immortality because he wanted to live a normal life, you know, like dealing with school and all that drama. Plus, being immortal means dealing with eternal responsibilities and probably a never-ending stream of monsters trying to take you down. So yeah, he was like, "Nah, I'm good with just being a demigod."

He says at the end of the book that you can live as a god forever with the same stuff but as a mortal it can always get better. Plus he has a more important wish that he wants. Because 1) Annabeth 2) His promise to Luke and 3) He was too young to become immortal

Percy Jackson went on about 20 quests, saving-the-world ones and quick combat ones alike. He accepts them because he wants to help. Percy hates feeling like he in restrained from doing something to help somebody. No doubt about it, he would save anybody, as long as they're worth saving. Even when they aren't, Percy hesitates to kill other demigods because he thinks they are "brainwashed". You now what? He's absolutely right.
