Because George Lucus sold Lucasfilms to the Disney company and since The Clone Wars aired on Cartoon Network, Time Warner no longer had the rights to produce more episodes.
Disney wanted to make their own Star Wars animated TV show which will be called Star Wars Rebels and it will premiere in the Fall of 2014 on DisneyXD.

∙ 11y agoThe Star Wars Movies ended exactly the way George Lucas wanted it to. It wasn't meant to end any other way.
Granted this was before in November 2012 it was announced more Star Wars movies would be made but as far as Lucas' movies are concerned, how they ended is exactly how they were meant to end.
