Why did Star Wars fans disapprove of Hayden Christensen's ghost at the end of the special edition of Return of the Jedi?

While nothing can really be a definitive official reason, of the two I recall reading, one of them was the fact Yoda & Obi-Wan were depicted as what they looked like when they died, as in old, but Anikin was seen as his young self. Although an explanation of that was he was seen as he appeared before he turned to the dark side.
Another reason was there was simply no reason to replace Sebastian Shaw.
