It was an advertising promotion akin to a catalogue poem to keep kids turning the pages- Miles Kimball did similar, often historical rhymes, like one-Expalining the absence of Flightless Birds from a Yule party- The Penguin and the Flightless Auk: Decreed: It"s much to far to walk! Amen. A rather neat advertising gimmick that has become Public Domain. Johnny Marks wrote the song popularized by Singing Cowboy Gene Autry. For some reason (Mr. White Christmas) -Bing Crosby refused to do the song and was adamantly opposed to it- maybe on religious grounds.
