Mr Schuster's wife, near the beginning of the series announced she was pregnant after a test she did came up positive. However, on a solitary visit to the Doctor she discovered that it actually was something called a hysterical pregnancy, where the symptoms of pregnancy are mimicked by the body as the woman really wants a child.
Mrs Schuster didn't have the heart to tell her husband that there was no child, and this lie spiraled out of control with her wearing pregnancy suits and faking an ultrasound.
After a while, Mr Schuster discovered these fake pregnancy bumps and left his wife, understandably.
