Why didn't Dragon Ball GT have more seasons?

the ratings went down after dbgt and they stopped. akira toriyama wanted to stop it in the frieza saga but there was an out cry by fans - they wanted more and this happened with both the call saga and buu saga, but toriyama said he'll make no more after the buu saga no matter what. it's been 12 years since it ended.

Akira toriyama had little to do with dbgt; he didn't create it. it was made by toei animation (i think i spelt that incorrectly) but they asked permission from toriyama.

akira toriyama also carried dragonball/z from 1984-1995 - that's 11 years; a long time an it was about time the man moved on.

I am not surtain about the aniser i am saying but it is posibel.

They may have stoped make dgagon ball z episod3es because they where not bringing in very good reteings anny more and dcided to stop befor they start loseing money.

Likely because it was poorly recieved, because it was an original story instead of being based on Toriyama's original manga like previous seasons had been.

Someone else's answer: There is more than 2 DragonBall GT seasons, there are 4 seasons of DragonBall GT and also a movie.

Actually, Dragon Ball Z was supposed to be the end, since Akira Toriyama (the guy who created DBZ) only made the manga (what the series is based off) up to the end of Z. The people who owned the rights to DBZ, though, seeing its popularity, decided to launch another series-GT. I assume that after the creators of GT pushed the series as far as it would go (they killed of Goku....-_-), there was nothing else that could really happen. Goku was the guy everyone grew up with-since Dragon Ball. Without him, everything just got kind of boring. He was funny, strong, and fought for a reason. The prime hero. No hero. No real plot to base an episode on. Thus, no more series.

The ratings it was getting weren't that good, so the series people decided to go ahead and wrap it up with that whole 'Black Dragon Saga' thing.
