You see, some people don't like Star Wars because they just aren't cultured enough to appreciate the true epicness of the series. Star Wars is an adventurous tale of good vs. evil, with maidens and heroes and what not, and some people can't see that - they see lightsabers and repulsorlift vehicles and think "Ahh, it's all geeky and such, and I just can't take that stuff!" Well, obviously they haven't examined Star Wars to its full extent. In all seriousness, Star Wars has many roots in ancient mythology, the Bible, and more recent history. And finding where that all fits in is just another one of the joys of Star Wars. Personally, I LOVE it because a. I grew up on it (my father saw "A New Hope" in the 70s) and b. it's beyond amazing. So next time someone says "Star Wars? Ugh, I hate that movie!" don't be upset with them, but instead take pity on them that they just can't enjoy such a fantastic piece of culture.
