Why do people read comics?

Manga is the child of books and movies. The benefit to movies is that there are some emotions that are hard to express through writing and are better felt through facial expressions.

The benefit to books is that there are some things that are easier to understand if they are written down. Manga has both.

Granted, most manga series are really good if you look for the one that interest you the most.

Most like the comedies best because they can get away with unrealistic plot lines better than series that are supposed to be serious.

But there are many forms of manga series for almost every genre of story.

Because the education that school supplies is nothing compared to the amazing chapters of Japanese Manga. They are going to take over the world with the Chinese anyway, so why not read their comics?

Manga became popular after WW2 due to the exposure of American comics which were read by American servicemen who were stationed in Japan (as an occupation force ) . Manga is popular with a wide range of readers irrespective of age .

its fun cuz its awesome and it has cool graphics. i also learnt how to draw cool anime people by reading manga! ^^

Everyone has different tastes, I suppose it provides a good medium for escapism.

For the same reason People read books, it's just that comics have pictures to follow along and not as much detailed writing.
