∙ 11y agoIt's actually part of the series character development. Misty is a side kick to Ash. Therefore she is an arch-type. She is a "support" character. Her role is light and soft which is opposite to Ash's role as hard and dark, as he has to collect them all.
But in my opinion boys just want to have girls by their side. In Misty we see that she is at Ash's side.
