Bane's character was born and raised in a prison, Pena Dura (hard rocks), as he was to pay for crimes committed by his father. After a series of events that give him not only physical strengths but mental genius, the guards in the prison decided that he would be a good fit to test a new serum called Titan, turning him into a super soldier. The mask he wears distributes the Titan directly into his blood stream. The test almost left him dead because the Titan was injected directly into his brain. What the mask accomplishes is to distribute it evenly so he may survive. The mask is his lifeline--without it he would die.

Clowns wear makeup not because it looks funny and makes the audience laugh, one of the main reasons that clowning makeup is effective is that it helps to show a clowns personality and individuality. For example if has a brightly coloured face the clown will most likely have a happy, bright and mischievous personality, the brightly coloured face helps to convey the clowns individual personality and stand out from the rest of the clowns and define each clown by matching the clowns style with the right kind and style of makeup. Another good example is the hobo clown, the hobo clown often has a sad/frowning face and this is because the hobo clown is often unhappy in its situation, so in this situation it really helps to enhance what the clown is trying to show.

The second reason using clowning makeup is effective is of course to make the audience laugh by over enhancing facial features. For example the Auguste clown has a flesh coloured face but the makeup surrounding the eyes and mouth is very exaggerated to make the faces own natural features look funny and comedic which helps to enhance the funniness of the clowns play/skit.

Actually, No^... Michael had a skin disease called Vitiligo, this disease discolors your skin and it leaves bloches. Michael was dark skinned, the bloches were white. So Michael wore things like foundation to even out his skin. If you look at him through the years, you see the rapid lightening in like, 1989. Michael said this happened because he had to change his make up to lighter ones. He couldn't cover it up anymore and in 1993, on an Oprah interview, he told the world about his secret..And how Vitiligo ruined, pretty much, his entire life. He wore eyeliner, lipstick and eye shadow because he's a star. If you look at other musicians, Michael isn't the only one who wore it. Since he's one of the BIGGEST STARS, People notice it. He was amazing.
