Before the release of Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, players were abusing the use of Premature Burial and Swords of Revealing Light with Giant Trunade.Swords of Revealing Light was only Limited because it did not appear too "broken" to be banned; however, Premature Burial's effect could be used repeatedly because of its failure to include a "destruction release" in its card lore.

Monster Reborn could not do this. With the future release of the aforementioned Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier, Hidden Armory and the Mist Valley series, Konami realized that to keep Premature Burial on the Limited list would provide great advantages to those that owned one and great disadvantages to those that did not. It was moved to the Forbidden list and was quickly followed by Call of the Haunted for about the same reasons.

However, to contemplate players of this loss, they decided to move Monster Reborn to the Limited list. The March Banlist of 2009 featured for the first time in years, Monster Rebornbeing on the Limited list. Unfortunately, Monster Reborn's run-life was shortlived as six months later, Konami released the September Banlist of 2009, effectively sending Monster Reborn back to the Forbidden list and replacing it with Call of the Haunted.

With Premature burial and Call of the Haunted after summoning when it is your go can you flip it face down swarm of scarabs locasts?

Yes, you can use the effect of "Swarm of Scarabs" after reviving it with "Premature Burial" or "Call of the Haunted" ("CotH"). If "Premature Burial" was used on "Swarm of Scarabs", then "Premature Burial" will be destroyed and sent to the Graveyard since Spells cannot be equipped to a face-down monster. If "CotH" was used instead, "CotH" will simply stay on the field. It is no longer "connected" to "Swarm of Scarabs". And essentially serves no function. In both cases, "Swarm of Scarabs" is independent of the card used to revive them. It will not be destroyed in the card used to revive them is destroyed.

Why is Monster Reborn a banned card in Yu-Gi-Oh?

Monster Reborn is a "broken" card in Yu-Gi-Oh! because of its ability to Special Summon any monster card in either player's Graveyard at virtually no cost. Before current Forbbiden/Limited card lists, Monster Reborn was considered better than Call of the Haunted or Premature Burial because it was an unfair balance of give and take, while Call of the Haunted, and Premature Burial came with a cost (Call of the Haunted had to be Set and then activated the next turn and was vunerable to Spell/Trap destruction cards and cards such as Jinzo and Royal Decree; Premature Burial, although could be activated immediately, still required a cost of 800 Life Points, and was also vunerable to Spell/Trap destruction cards). However, players started to abuse the return effect of Giant Trunade and were able to reuse the effect of cards such as Call of the Haunted, Premature Burial, and Swords of Revealing Light over and over again (which resulted in the Limiting of Giant Trunade). Another advantage that influenced the banning of Call of the Haunted was its ability to activate even on the opponent's turn. Monster Reborn could not do that. Later, when the new Forbbiden/Limited card list came out, Monster Reborn was switched with Call of the Haunted on the Forbidden section. And the list after that placed Premature Burial right next to Call of the Haunted in the Forbidden list, and Magician of Faith was put there as well to avoid abuse of the newly released Monster Reborn.Premature Burial was deemed even more abused than Call of the Haunted. Along with Giant Trunade, the newly released Hidden Armory, foreshadowed continued abusive play with Premature Burial which earned it a place on the Forbidden list.As of the October 2010 Forbidden/Limited Card List, both Monster Reborn and Call of the Haunted are now Limited, with Premature Burial still Forbidden.

What are the banned Yugioh cards?

Forbidden/Limited Card List - March 2009 too bad you cant know your answer . :D Ignore the previous answer. It's total bull crap. Raigeki was banned because 1 single spell card is enough to wipe out the entire monster card on your opponent's field which is overpowered.

Why is Metamorphosis a banned card in Yu Gi Oh?

More than likely it's because someone complained about the card being misused at a tournament. Either that or the creators of yugioh decided that the card was to overpowered to be used in tournaments and should only be for collecting purposes only

In Yu-Gi-Oh is destroy and negate the same thing?

No. Destroying is way of sending cards to the Graveyard. While Negating is the act of nullifying the effect of another card and rendering it useless. Unless stated otherwise (such as"...negate the effect and destroy it."), all non-Continuous cards are sent (not destroyed) to the Graveyard after being "negated". Continuous Spell and Trap Cards remain on the field as usless obstructions to the players Spell & Trap Card Zone. Their effects do not apply. If a normal spell card like swords of reveling light has it's effect negated it remains on the field and still counts the opponent's turn, and it is still send to graveyard during the opponent's 3 turn, if a normal spell like different dimension capsule is negated after activation before it resolve, since the card never get's banish from the deck, the different dimension capsule is destroy by it's own condition. If different dimension capsule was negated after the card is banish face-down from the deck, if it is still negated during the second stanby phase you do not get the face-down banish card and different dimension capsule is not destroy, nor send to the graveyard, if the face-down banish card leaves the banish zone, by other means like with necroface effect, even if different dimmention capsule his still negated it would be destroyed by its own condition if the face-down banish card leaves the banish zone, form the effect of necroface. If you negated the effect of premature burial at activation before it resolve, the monster never got special summoned so premature burial as nothing to equiped to so it is sent to the graveyard, if you negated the effect of premature burial while it is already equiped to the special summoned monster card, if you use MSt and destroyed premature burial, while it is negated by imperial order, or emperor's holiday, the monster would not be destroyed because the effect of premature burial is negated by imperial order, or emperor's holiday. If Mst destroyed on it's own premature burial that was already equiped to the special sumoned monster, the effect of premature burial would apply and destroyed the special summoned monster card equiped to premature burial.

When a monster equipped with premature burial is destroyed does the equipped spell card get destroyed too?

Yes, Equip Spell Cards cannot exist on the field without their target. If the target leaves the field, the Equip Spell Card will be destroyed and go to the graveyard.
