If you are referring to the physical size of the Walt Disney World Resort, this is because the Walt Disney Company was the first to purchase land in that area and did so secretly so that they could get a large amount of land at a low price. Immediately after announcing that they owned the land, the price of surrounding land skyrocketed, making it too pricey for other companies to buy as much land as the Walt Disney Company.
