∙ 9y agoLex Luthor is a villain because he craves power in order to take over the world however the public is not aware of his misdeeds only Superman, Lois Lane and a few others are aware of his misdeeds in the Superman series however in the Smallville television series Lex becomes evil because of his Dad raising him to become evil along with the distrust that Clark Kent had in him due to constantly telling him lies and keeping secrets from him and the Smallville Lex Luthor also craves power... unlike the Superman comics Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Pete Ross, Lana Lang, Chloe Sullivan, Martha Kent and Jonathan Kent were aware of his misdeeds as was Clark's Kryptonian cousin; Kara.
