Why is little house on the prairie banned?

I have never heard of this. the sedate ( Waltons with a western accent ) was one of the most wholesome and generally historically accurate of the frontier- here somewhat domesticated, scene. I cannot recall any gunfights, for example. I believe you're thinking of the novel, not the TV show. The book was banned because of its racist attitudes towards Native Americans.

I could find no information on who actually called for the ban on Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. But banning usually means that the books were removed from school and public libraries. The reason for the banning was complaints that the books were racist against Native Americans. But during the 19th century this was how people viewed Indians so it should be remembered that Ingalls was telling it like it was.
