Unfourtunatley, som religions and cultures have banned the reading of the amazing series, because of their beliefs. For example most religions would not like the thourght of sorcery, being wedged into their chilldrens minds.

It has been banned because of the reason above, but I had to share I think it is so iteresting some religions ban it because at my church we talked about how it is good and is the story of Jesus in a way.

The Lord of the Rings was considered as promoting witchcraft and satan. Copies were burned in Alamagordo, NM in 2001 at Christ Community Church along with other Tolkien novels. There is no record of it being officially banned by any government organization.

More accurately, The Hobbit was excluded from a number of school libaries in the '60s and '70s as part of a widespread "moral majority" reaction to the rising popularity of fantasy fiction. A lot of decent, powerful God-fearing folks figured that youth inculcated in tales glorifying sorcery were youth vulnerable to the variegated influences of Satan. They may have been right, but the studies I've read have demonstrated similar efficacies for both prayer and occult rites, so the jury is still out.
