For unpaid debts Molière (January 15, 1622 - February 17, 1673) was arrested in 1645.

Specifically, Molière and friends formed L'Illustre Théâtre on June 1643. Two years later, the company folded because of lack of success on the Parisian theatrical scene. There were huge debts for which no one in the company had money to pay. Molière was arrested and then released once his father, Jean Poquelin, paid the debts.
