Yes- it is a 4th Generation Game based on the DS- it will be compatible- with Diamond and Pearl- due to the fact that is also based in Sinnoh Please note Past instance's: Yellow was Compatible with Red,Green,Blue Emerald was Compatible with Ruby & Sapphire So Pokemon platinum will be compatible with its predecessors

I can safely say that from Pokemon generations I to IIII, there are 34; 5 from red/blue/yellow/green (articuno zapdos moltres mewtwo and mew) 6 from gold/silver/crystal (suicine raikou entei lugia ho-oh and celebi) and 10 from emerald/ruby/sapphire (Groudon, Kyogre Rayquaza, Regice, Registeel, Regirock, Latios, Latias, Deoxys and Jirachi) Palkia, Dialga, Shaymin, Darkrai, Mesprit, Uxie, Azelf, Cresselia, Giratina, Rotom, Regigigas,Manpahy, Phione and Arceus are 13 from Diamond/Pearl that are legendary. * improvement: technically, there are only 33 legendaries in all of Pokemon because Arceus isn't counted on the national pokedex
In Generation I (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow), TM 17 is Submission. You can get it at Victory Road, or from Celadon Mart. In Generation II (Gold, Silver, Crystal), TM 17 is Protect. You can get it at Celadon Mart. In Generation III (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, Leaf Green), TM 17 is Protect. You can get it at Lilycove Mart in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, And at the Power Plant in Fire Red, and Leaf Green. In Generation IV (Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Heart Gold, Soul Silver), TM 17 is Protect. You can get it at Veilstone Mart in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, And at Goldenrod Mart in Heart Gold, and Soul Silver. In Generation V (Black, White, Black2, White2) TM 17 is Protect. Nobody knows yet but you can get platinum soon. Its like Emerald Crystal and yellow. This will help: http://www.serebii.net/platinum/
Platinum is being released soon, which is like the Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald of Generation 4.
Look for Pokemon Diamond, Pearl or Platinum in a store. or Look on www.eBay.com for Pokemon Red,Blue,Green,Yellow,Gold,Silver,Crystal,Ruby,Sapphire,Emerald,FireRed, or LeafGreen
Pokemon Platinum is just the 3rd generation of Sinnoh, just like Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Crystal, Pokemon Emerald and now Pokemon Platinum is just a re-playing of the series, but more things to do, rumor has it that Platinum is a multi-region game that MAY let you access the Johto Region. However it has NOT BEEN CONFIRMED yet if it can access Johto, since it is a rumor.
There is no Pokemon mansion in emerald. only in Pokemon red yellow diamond pearl and platinum. The first apperance on the Pokemon mansion was in Pokemon red which was the first Pokemon game in 1995. thank you
Yes. Every generation had its "third version" - the same as the others in the generation, but with more new stuff. Red/Blue had Yellow, Gold/Silver had Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire had Emerald. Now Diamond/Pearl will have Platinum.
It is part of the 2nd generation of Pokemon games, in front of Red/Blue/Yellow and behind Ruby/Saphire/Emerald
Sadly you can't. You can trade From Yellow to : Red, Blue, Green, Gold, Silver and Crystal. From LeafGreen you can trade to : FireRed, Ruby, Saphire and Emerald.
Platinum, like Yellow version, Crystal version, or Emerald version in the previous generations is the third released game of the most recent generation of Pokemon games. It was released after the first two, and has more features than one of the previous released. It also contains some gameplay only found in Platinum.
no...there is red, blue, green (japan), yellow, gold, silver, crystal, ruby, sapphire, emerald, diamond, pearl, platinum, leaf green, fire red, heart gold and soul silver.
Sadly you can not. You can transfer Pokemon from red, blue, or yellow version up to crystal, but crystal, gold, and silver version are not compatible with ruby, Sapphire, or emerald and onwards. It is due to a new way of saving the data that makes up a Pokemon in the newer generations.
Legendary Pokemon are Pokemon that are only found once in the game and cannot be breed (except Manaphy). Legendary Pokemon are also found in a special place such as Mewtwo is only found in Cerulean Cave. Legendary Pokemon can sometimes be only obtained during an event such as Darkrai. Here is a list of all the Legendary Pokemon from each generation Generation 1 (Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow versions) Moltres Articuno Zapdos Mew Mewtwo Generation 2 (Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions) Entei Raiku Suicune (Crystal) Ho-oh (Gold and Crystal) Lugia (Silver and Crystal Celebii Generation 3 (Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald versions) Regice Regirock Registeel Latias (Sapphire and Emerald) Latios (Ruby and Emerald) Kyogre (Sapphire and Emerald) Groudon (Ruby and Emerald) Rayquaza Jarachi (Emerald) Deoxsys Generation 4 (Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum versions) Dialga (Diamond and Platinum) Palkia (Pearl and Platinum) Giratina Darkrai Shaymin Arceus Heatran Regigigas Crescelia Uxie Azelf Mesprit There will be more...
