They were dating, public and press are now unsure of there relationship now though. The proposal hasn't been confirmed. but He proposes to BELLA in new moon which could have got onlookers confused. or they were just trying to make a story out of nothing.

When they were filming Twilight Rob asked Kristen as a joke to marry him, of course she said no. But a little while back ago there were magazines that said wedding of the year and it had rob and Kristen on the cover, but it was just talking about the proposal in eclipse and the wedding in breaking dawn.

He said he would and he said he did before. He said in an interview there was this one girl that kept hanging aroung outside his apartment on her own for days and he was getting a bit freaked out by it so he went down and asked her out for dinner and then they did and she never bothered him again
