You started your stint in the wrestling world as a manager. Did you ever imagine you would become a wrestler yourself?

Yes, but no. That's what I wanted to do when I was a kid. So not in the beginning, I did not think about myself as a wrestler. But when they let me go from doing it, because I was just such a big presence - 6 foot 4, 220 lbs. and between the diamonds on my clothes and the rock and the diamond dolls, they decided that I couldn't manage anymore. So I was like screw it I got 7 months left on my contract. And everybody laughed at me like, "You're gonna do what?" Nobody thought I could do it.

What is your favorite memory from your successful wrestling career?

I would say April 11, 1999 when I became the World Champion. And it was a 4-way dance with me, Sting, Hulk, and Rick Flair. And my favorite memory is me pinning Rick Flair for the world championship.

What did it feel like to win your first WCW Championship?

It was a rush; it was living a dream at a different level. When you're a little kid and dream about being a wrestler and you're in your twenties and you actually try but it doesn't work out and then you give it another try at 35 and at 40 you become one of the biggest stars in the world. It's just a surreal experience especially when you wait your whole life for this. A lot of people dubbed me the anomaly (according to Star Trek that means it was never supposed to happen) and I think that's a description of career. When you're appreciative, it just hits you in a whole different spot and that's what made it.

How did DDP YOGA come to exist?

DDP YOGA started out of necessity. I didn't start Wrestling until I was 35 and my career didn't take off until I was 40. In 1998, I blew my back out and I had ruptured my L4 & L5 so badly that my career was over. I was almost 43 at time.

One day, while I was laid up with my back injury, I saw my wife, Kimberly, coming upstairs from one of her workouts. She was absolutely soaked in sweat. When she told me she was practicing yoga, I thought for sure that she was pulling my leg. But she insisted that yoga offered her a great physical workout and made her feel rejuvenated. She was absolutely certain that yoga could help me rehabilitate my back and asked me to give it a shot.

Once I started I was surprised of the benefit and discipline. One day I got on the mat and started to combine some of my rehabilitation moves with the yoga positions, I realized that combining the two created zero impact on your joints and rest is history.

What are the benefits an athlete might get from practicing DDP YOGA?

Kickass cardio. It will dramatically increase your flexibility by breaking up scar tissue and alleviating pain. And it will strengthen your core like never before with minimal joint impact.

How is DDP YOGA different from any other type of Yoga?

Every yogi is very Namaste. DDP YOGA is way more T & A (Tone and Attitude). DDP YOGA has a completely different attitude. We eliminated all of the spiritual mumbo jumbo (not that there's anything wrong with that - it just wasn't for me). And what really makes DDP YOGA its own animal is dynamic resistance.

You recently appeared on Shark Tank hoping to develop a mobile app for DDP YOGA. Is that still part of the plan?

With the proceeds that came from Shark Tank, we are in the process of building the app - probably a third of the way in. it's not going to be a $200,000 app, by the time it's finished it's going to be more like a million. And we are building the first DDP YOGA performance center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Shark Tank is an awesome vehicle to get your company exposure. But I already knew that. I thought that it was an amazing opportunity.

What does it feel like to know you're changing the lives of thousands of people, just like you did with Arthur Boorman?
