Starz's "Power" premieres on Saturday, June 6th. Is there any added pressure going into the second season to live up to everyone's expectations?

It's more excitement than pressure for me! I think this second season is only going to continue to please the fans of season 1 and captivate new fans. I'm not worried at all!

How will "Power" raise the bar in season 2?

The stakes are raised. More lives are at stake, more betrayal and dishonesty. I think the unity and loyalty amongst characters in season 1 start to unravel in season 2, which makes for a bumpy ride.

Why is "Power" not your typical drama?

I think Power is unique because of the way we tell the story of two distinct worlds colliding head on. The drug game meets the legit club business. We shoot in NY and we have such a diverse cast where we even speak Spanish throughout the show. I just love the way our show runner Courtney Kemp Agboh has created such a gritty, real world for us to play in.

How did you know the role of Tasha St. Patrick was for you?

Well, I read it and instantly felt connected to her strength and vulnerability. I knew that I would love playing this strong, sexy and complex character, and it doesn't hurt that I get to walk in her Louboutin shoes! Her wardrobe is fabulous!

How do you relate to Tasha? Do you have any similarities?

I'm loyal and ride or die just like Tasha. I also think she's a fighter who isn't afraid to speak her mind and I can definitely relate to that as well.

How does Tasha's character evolve from Season 1 to Season 2?

She's not the young woman who's only focus is to keep her man happy anymore. Her whole world used to revolve around Ghost and now Tasha starts to take control of her own life. Season 2 Tasha is a lot more independent and mature.

How would you describe Ghost and Tasha's relationship going into season 2?

It's tumultuous, uncertain, challenging but never ending. Ghost and Tasha have a strong bond and partnership but that will be tested in Season 2.

Some of us remember you from a girl group in the early 2000s with three little women in it. Oh, what was it called?? Oh yeah...3 Little Women (3LW)! How did your experience in 3LW mold you into the person you are today?

It made me stronger and smarter. 3LW was a part of my journey that tested my faith and my confidence in myself. But the person I am now is more aware, more secure, and has a lot more life experience under her belt. So I'm grateful for that chapter of my life.

Why did you decide to leave your career in singing for a career in acting?

I don't really know if I'd say that I left singing, because I still sing and perform often. I just discovered that I had more to give and acting has been another talent that I enjoy sharing.

In your opinion, what was the toughest part about the music business?

The cutthroat nature of it. Everyone is out for self and sometimes no matter how hard you work, you can still end up with nothing to show for it all.
