One example of a solid fuel is coal. Coal was used in many early factories during the beginning of the industrial, but was phased out because it was not a clean burning fuel source.

How to drain a radiator in the house?

Not for the faint of heart! For a Combi/Evaporation boiler: Switch off the boiler. Take a reading of the boiler water pressure gauge. Shut off the radiator's thermostat valve(if fitted)/supply valve and return valves, connect a hose to the drain and put the other end into a large container below the level of the bottom of the radiator. Open the draincock first and then the air bleed valve and let the radiator drain. Close the draincock. When refilling the radiator put the anti-corrosion treatment in first then open the thermostat valve and return valve as wide as possible. when the air is expelled, close the air bleed screw. Using the fill loop restore boiler pressure. Put all thermostat valves(if fitted) to max and fire up the boiler. After the boiler has run for 10 minutes, switch off, or so go to the highest radiator and bleed out the air. WARNING: the water/steam will be very hot and likely to spit. Use a cloth as a barrier and to mop up any spills. Recheck the boiler pressure and top up as necessary.

Can you start a fire in space?

Burning requires a flammable material and oxygen as well as a heat source. Rocket fuel will burn in space because it contains its own oxygen. Applying a heat source will ignite rocket fuel. A fuel such as gasoline will not burn in space as there is no oxygen present.

Should the damper stay all the way open when you have a fire going?

Why is it safer to close the air holes of the Bunsen burner with unattended?

Closing the air holes of a Bunsen burner when it is unattended is safer because it reduces the risk of uncontrolled flames and potential fire hazards. By limiting the air supply, the flame becomes less intense and can extinguish if there is insufficient fuel. This helps prevent accidents caused by an unattended open flame, such as igniting nearby materials or creating hazardous situations in the lab. Overall, it promotes a safer environment by minimizing risks associated with open flames.

What would you do if a open flame was out of control?

If an open flame was out of control, I would first ensure my safety and the safety of others by evacuating the area immediately. I would call emergency services to report the situation. If it was safe to do so and the fire was small enough, I might attempt to extinguish it using a fire extinguisher or water, but only if I felt confident in doing so. Otherwise, I would wait for professionals to handle the situation.

What is solid fuel?

A solid fuel booster is like a huge firecracker. Teh Explosive is formed into a hollow cylinder open at one end. When it ignites, the interior surface of the cylinder burns. The gases that result rush out the open end, pushing the booster and anything attached in the other direction.

Normally from an engine backfire. The plug fires when the intake valve is partially open which will explode the fuel in the intake and carb.

What is firepoint?
