Ambient refers to the temperature of the surrounding air, i.e not at parking lot level etc. Ambient means the temperature not being effected by mechanical means, like AC or any heat source. example, if you serve a wine at ambient temperature, it is not a specific number it is what ever the room is at the time.

Will a thermos keep cold or hot water at it's temperature range longer?

The rate of heat flow across a boundary such as the vacuum between the inside of the thermos flask and the ambient atmosphere is proportional to the temperature difference. So if you have hot water inside at say 90 C and an ambient of 30 C that is a difference of 60 C, whilst if you have cold water inside at 10 C the difference is 20 C. The heat flow will therefore be three times as much for the hot water as for the cold water, so the rate of change of temperature will be three times greater.

What is ambient temperature of concrete mean?

Ambient temperature simply means "the temperature of the surroundings" and will be the same as room temperature indoors..........Harshal P. Pawar

Why does the ambient temperature need to be measured before and after the experiment?

You measure the ambient temperature before the experiment in case the experiment is sensitive to ambient temperature. You want to record all of the environmental factors that might affect the experiment before starting it. You measure the ambient temperature after the experiment for the same reason, and also in case the experiment affected the ambient temperature. Depending on the experiment, environmental factors may need to be considered when analyzing the results.

How do you use the word ambient in a sentence?

The ambient temperature felt cooler than the 92 degree reading in the swimming pool that night, possibly because the evaporating water cooled my skin.

What is the mathematical formula for algor mortis?

(98.4 - measured rectal temperature) / 1.5 Formula: Temperature of body when found = (Initial Difference between body and ambient temp)(e)^(-k x t) + ambient temperature

How do you calculate the ambient temperature?

To calculate the ambient temperature, you can use a thermometer to measure the temperature of the surrounding air. This measurement will give you the ambient temperature, which is the temperature of the environment around you.

What is the effect of ambient temperature on the properties of water?

The ambient temperature affects the properties of water by influencing its density, viscosity, and ability to dissolve substances. As temperature changes, water can expand or contract, affecting its volume and ability to flow. Additionally, temperature can impact the solubility of substances in water, as higher temperatures generally increase the solubility of solids and gases.

Why does cold water revert to room temperature?

When cold water is exposed to a warmer environment, it absorbs thermal energy from the surroundings, causing its temperature to increase until it reaches equilibrium with the room temperature. The heat transfer occurs due to the difference in temperature between the cold water and the room, with the water losing heat until it matches the ambient temperature.

What are the different aspects of temperature that can be measured?

Different aspects of temperature that can be measured include ambient temperature (air temperature in the surrounding environment), surface temperature (temperature of an object's surface), body temperature (temperature of a living organism), and water temperature (temperature of water in a body of water).
