To wash a nylon and cotton blend, use a mild detergent and cold water to prevent shrinking and damage to the fibers. Wash the garment on a gentle or delicate cycle and avoid using bleach or fabric softener. For drying, air dry the clothing flat or hang it up to prevent stretching.
Usually by hand with mild detergent (woolite) in cold water and hang to dry.
Some nylons are good for making combs, especially nylon 6,10. Others are wholly unsuitable. Nylon 6,10 is good because it has a good balance between firmness and flexibilty, is easy to wash and disinfect and reasonably cheap.
