By my wild guess. Since intensity of energy is expressed in energy per area, intensity of pressure could be action of pressure over another unit say Temperature. The result would yield P/T = nR/V and that is probably a unit of specific volume heat capacity of the unit J/m3K.

Intensity of pressure is defined as the normal force per unit area on which the force acts.

Intensity of pressure,

p=f/a

f=force exerted

a=area on which force acts

Unit of sound intensity?

The unit of sound intensity I is watts per meter squared (W/m²). Sound intensity is a sound energy quantity. Sound pressure deviations are moving our eardrums. The unit of sound pressure p is pascals (Pa) or newton per meter squared (N/m²). Sound pressure is a sound field quantity. Another answer: The most common unit of sound intensity is the decibel (dB). Reply: No! We got the sound intensity measured in W/m² and the sound intensity level we measure in decibels (dB). The question was "sound intensity".

How does sound intensity differ from loudness?

Sound intensity or acoustic intensity can be calculated from the objective measurement of the sound pressure. The loudness is a psycho-acoustic subjective feeling, which is difficult to measure.

How is the intensity of sound measure?

You take a measuring microphone with a sound pressure level meter.

How is the intensity of a sound transduced into neural codes?

It is the sound pressure (!) that moves your ear drums.Your ears and the sound pressure level meter "measure" the sound pressure of a sound wave. Sound intensity is measured in watts per square meter.Intensity is measured in watts per square meter.Note: Sound power (sound intensity) is the cause -and the sound pressure is the effect.The effect is of particular interest to the sound engineer.Sound is vibrations. These vibrations are carried through the ear where they cause fine hairs in the inner ear to vibrate. The intensity of the vibration is picked up by sensors which monitor the amplitude of the hair's vibrations. Larger vibration amplitudes of the hairs indicates louder noise. This information is sent to the brain.

Define magnitude and intensity?

Magnitude is the measure of the brightness of a star or other celestial body.And, intensity is the measure of energy flux

How does the amplitude of a sound relate to its intensity?

The loudness has to do with the sound field quantity called sound pressure or sound pressure level (SPL). The sound intensity or acoustic intensity means the sound energy quantity. Our ears and the microphone diaphragms are moved by the amplitude of sound pressure variations. Intensity I = sound pressure squared p2.

What is meant by the intensity of a sound?

The loudness has to do with the sound field quantity called sound pressure or sound pressure level (SPL). The sound intensity or acoustic intensity means the sound energy quantity.

What are variations in sound intensity?

The loudness has to do with the sound field quantity called sound pressure or sound pressure level (SPL). The sound intensity or acoustic intensity means the sound energy quantity. Our ears and the microphone diaphragms are moved by the sound pressure variations.

What do you mean by intensity value?

The word "intensity" can be synonymous with "strength", "amplitude", or "level", as it sometimes is in colloquial speech. It is possible to define the intensity of the water coming from a garden sprinkler, but intensity is used most frequently with waves - i.e. sound or light.
