TUrn off your computer , take out the battery , and unplug it . Try to clean out as much of the coke as you can. Leave the keyboard upside down if you have just a keyboard . But if you have a laptop turn it upside down with the screen open and put it in a position so that it looks like a triangle / pyramid.SO THE COKE WILL DRIAN OUT AND EVAPORATE EASIER) LET IT SIT LIKE THIS OVER NIGHT!! Just to let you know i spilled soda on my keyboard recently and did what i just told you and my computer still works perfectly but my keyboard is a little sticky but its wearing off so no big deal , anyways good luck: )
No... just go out and buy bakingsoda.. why must you substitute borax?
A large bottle of soda typically contains 2 liters. There are 3.785 liters in a gallon. 2 liters equals 0.53 (just over one half) gallons.
coke pepsi diet coke diet pepsi sprite orange soda grape soda
The acids in soda clean off coins.
which soda is best for a soda and mentos volcanic explosion! have you ever seen someone place mentos in a soda drink? it explodes! you could do an experiment on what type of soda makes the best/largest explosion!
Simply replace the keyboard. You can try to save the keyboard by thoroughly rinsing it in running water and letting dry for two days. (addition from Kimberly) I don't know if soaking it in water is the best idea, however you can use contact cleaner to clean the key wells and I've used cleaning wipes on the outer part of the keyboard when I spilled liquid on mine
Immediately turn the keyboard upside down and leave it that way over night. If it isn't working properly by morning, you will have to get it repaired or replaced. But don't use a hair dryer to try to dry it; the heat could possibly do more damage, and the air flowing into the keyboard could blow the soda further into the keyboard.
I hope a substantial amount of people view this. When soda spills on the laptop if it still boots to windows and the keyboard does not work. Just buy a new keyboard. First thing is to unplug battery and place upside down. Keep in a warm area and wait a week before using again.
turn your keyboard upside down to drain liquid off. Then use a danp cloth to clean surface.
Each laptop allow to remove its keyboard, go through the manual how to, remove the keyboard. Usually each key can be removed too, make sure that you know how to... Remove each key and clean with clean water, dry it before installation. Clean the keyboard body with slightly wet tissue, dry before installation.
DO NOT try to rinse it off!!!! that's the worst thing you can do. water is just as damaging to a computer/keyboard than any other liquids. the best thing you can do is turn the keyboard upside down (without shaking it) and let it sit that way on a towel for a day or so. hopefully most of the water will come out and it may have no problems. this may not work, though, and the keyboard may be destroyed.
Place your keyboard upside down immediately. Then unplug it from the computer. still upside down, remove the affected keys by pushing a flatblade screwdriver under them and pushing up softly, get rid of the liquid in the keys and let the board dry
Put baking soda where the milk spilled and in a day the baking soda will absorb the milk
Get a new keyboard

Lay out paper towels and place the keyboard on them, turning it upside down overnight or at least 4 hours. Wedge your screwdriver beneath any keys that are adjacent to spilled soda and apply a gentle force down on the handle until the keys pop off. Dampen a cotton swab with water and dab the spilled liquid to dilute the sugar and loosen any caking that has occurred. Use a clean cotton swap to pick up the dried soda residue from the keyboard. Dampen a paper towel and lightly scrub the surface of the keyboard, then turn it upside down again. Wait another 4 hours while it dries before you push the keys back in place
