You didn't say what scientists, but science today is built on the contributions of scientists from long ago. There are many examples but prominent among them Is Isaac newton.
There is no founder for the subject matter of physical science, there are many scientists' contributions though.
It is NOT scientifically disputed as the overwhelming number of scientists accept evolutionary theory. Those scientists, and others, that do not accept the theory do so for religiously ideological reasons, though they try to rationalize this by pseudo scientific proposals.
In school yes, in practice..typically not. Though we have an extensive background in the biological and chemical sciences, we generally do not work in labs. However, many do and consider themselves scientists.
The genus is Homo, the species is Sapien "thus Homo-Sapien". your on your own with the sub species though, because I have no idea :P The subspecies was sapien too if i remember correctly.
To make it easier for scientists all over the world to understand what organisms other scientists refer to even though they may speak a different language. It also helps scientists understand the relationships between organisms.
Do you think the contributions of these scientists are still valuable, even though some were made hundreds of years ago?Explain your answer.

Though it is impossible to know what scientists would be foreign or local, some well known scientists are: Aristotle :Father of biology Schwann:Modern Theory of Cell
Highly variable. Are you talking crystals, or massive material for carving? It's a common mineral, seldom too valuable, though undamaged and colorful crystals can be worth hundreds.
Harriet Tubman made many contributions to society during her lifetime. Even though she was risking her life, Tubman helped hundreds of people escape from slavery. She worked as a spy for the Union during the Civil War, and she helped John Brown recruit men for his raid at Harper's Ferry.

A book.
Nobody knows. Hundreds of thousands, though.
Like people there are bad and good scientists. Probably one of the worst things done by scientists is developing nerve gas. Nerve gas has no other use than to kill people and nerve gas has been developed by scientists with the aim of making them as lethal as possible. I really don't know how they sleep at night but i presume they go home to their families and hug their children. Many other things are developed by scientists with the sole aim of killing people more efficiently and if i listed them here it could run to hundreds of pages. Most scientists work on making this world a better place to live in though.
Though the criteria are subject to change, you are promoted to a bronze contributor after 500 contributions, a silver contributor after 5,000, a gold contributor after 25,000, and a platinum contributor after 100,000 contributions.
The thing that matters more than the number of contributions is the quality of contributions. On WikiAnswers, even though you may have 1,000 contributions, many may be vandalism. The better the quality, the better the chances. Also, there are a few requirements that need to be met. See the related question below.
unfortunately, no. scientists are still looking for a cure though.
