Hi there! Well, to answer your question, chemical reactions invlove two sets of substances: the reactants and the products. The reactants are the chemicals that are involved BEFORE the reactions occurs. The products are the chemicals that are formed as a result of the chemical reaction. In another words, the products are your end results. Therefore, chemicals reactions make new materials called the PRODUCTS, rather than reactants. For example in photosynthesis:
Glucose + Oxygen -----> Carbon dioxide + Water
Glucose and oxygen are your reactants, whereas carbon dioxide and water are your products.
