Which object gives off its own light?

All objects warm enough to glow. It depends on what you count as 'light'. If you count all electromagnetic radiation, then all objects above absolute zero give off their own heat and light. Except, maybe, black holes. The answer for them is not so clear-cut.

What is the difference between illuminated objects and non-luminous objects?

Luminous - bodies are objects which exhibit their own light.EXAMPLE:-SUNnon-luminous bodies are objects that reflect light from luminous bodiesEXAMPLE:-moonLuminous bodies are insects that give a light, such as the glow worm. Non luminous bodies do not glow o their own. it can also refer to things in space; such as planets, moons and stars

Is a torch luminous or non luminous?

At first light it DOES sound a bit confusing. First, the definition of the term 'NON-LUMINOUS'; 'Not capable of PRODUCING light but can be capable of REFLECTING light from another source'. For instance, our MOON is NON-LUMINOUS as it REFLECTS light from the Sun. The SUN is LUMINOUS as it produces light that is REFLECTED off the surface of the moon. And so, LUMINOUS means capable of PRODUCING light. Now closely examine your flashlight. The BATTERIES produce electrical energy which is transferred to the BULB which emits light, thus LUMINOUS. The tiny little BULB emits quite a lot of light for its small size. However, the bulb is contained within a concave silvered cone which REFLECTS,(NON-LUMINOUS) gathers and channels the emitted light from the BULB (LUMINOUS) into a BEAM which ILLUMINATES whatever you are pointing the flashlight at. Our cameras would be just paperweights if there were no NON-LUMINOUS surfaces for the light to REFLECT off of, back into the camera lens, onto the 'plate' thus etching the image. For example, take a photograph in the dark without the flash and what do you get. No LUMINOUS, no NON-LUMINOUS. And so there we have LUMINOUS and NON-LUMINOUS, ILLUMINATING our lives. Enjoy! :)

What is it that normal light bulbs give off much more than fluorescent light bulbs?

Heat.

Is a lighted candle an example of a luminous object?

Luminous objects are the objects that responsible for our vision and omit their own light. Stars, radium, LED, and sparks are some of example of artificial luminous object.

Are candles and campfire luminous objects?

Yes, candles and campfires are considered luminous objects because they produce light through heat or chemical reactions. They emit visible light through combustion processes that generate heat and illumination.

What is luminouse and non-luminouse?

i think luminous means when something gives off light and non-luminous means when something does not give off light.

What is meant by luminous?

Giving off light, as a light source. The sun, a light bulb, and a candle are all luminous. The moon is not because it does not give off its own light but reflects it from the sun; it is illuminated.

Does an luminous object cast a shadow?

because there is no light for it to reflect off

What is luminous source?

A body that can give off electromagnetic radiation (light) such as the Sun, a lightbulb, etc.

What is Luminous and what is reflect?

Luminous refers to something that emits light on its own, like the sun or a light bulb. Reflect means to bounce back light, sound, or heat off a surface, like a mirror reflecting an image.

How can a non luminous body be made luminous Give an example?

Luminous objects create light .A non luminous object does not give off light. For instance, my feet are not luminous. Our sun and the rest of the stars in the universe are luminousNon-luminous objects are the ones who doesn't have its own light like you can say moon, trees, branches, plants, metals mirrors bricks etc.

Is a burning gas lantern is a luminous or non luminous?

It gives off light. That is what luminous means.

What are luminescent objects?

A luminous object is something that emits/gives off light - eg sun, star, light bulb, A non-luminous object is something that doesnt have/give off its own light - eg moon, diamond, wood. Non-luminous objects can only be seen because they reflect light, which is given off by luminous objects.

What are called the things that give off light of their own?

According to the primary level science the object which emit their own light are the luminous object.....

What are some animals that make and give off their own light?
