Yes. It is in its own family, but it's related to, and develops from, the cumulus. The usual progression is:

Cumulus humilis

Cumulus mediocris

Cumulus congestus

Cumulonimbus

What are the cloud layers in order?

Clouds are classified into 4 main layers, with one layer which occurs extremely high up. They can be divided into the four 'families'. High clouds, which are Family A Middle clouds, which are Family B Low clouds, which are Family C Vertical clouds, which are Family D High clouds, which include ones such as Cirrocumulus and Cirrus clouds, occur at heights of around 30,000 feet. They generally have a very wispy appearance, generally due to the fact that a large portion of them are ice crystals. This is because the temperature at these altitudes can be well below freezing point. Middle clouds, such as the Altostratus cloud, are found at about 15,000 feet. The Altostratus cloud is generally grey or dark, like a rain cloud. However they are not so dark that you cannot see the sun through them! Low clouds include Cumulus, Stratocumulus and Cumulonimbus clouds. They are found around 6,500 feet, and are characterised by their much more defined 'cloud like' features. Cumulus clouds are the stereotypical cloud, quite heavy with a whispy edges. Cumulonimbus clouds however are storm clouds, and are very tall and dense. The heigh can reach well over 50,000 feet! The other cloud group appears in the mesosphere and the stratosphere, which is just below the mesosphere. They are typically made completely from ice due to the high altitudes.

What class of enzyme does invertase belong?

Invertases (E.C. 3.2.1.26) belong to the glycoside hydrolases (GH). Acid invertases (vacuolar and cell wall invertases) belong to the glycoside hydrolase family 32 (GH32), whereas alkaline/neutral invertases are members of glycoside hydrolase family 100 (GH100).

What are cirrus status and cumulus clouds?

I'm guessing that you meant to type "stratus". Stratus clouds are the lowest forming cloud in the atmosphere (even fog is a type of stratus). They can produce light precipitation. Also those little "pieces" of cloud that you see sometimes are a type of stratus known as stratus fractus. Cumulus form mid-troposphere. And the cumulus family consists of cumulus humilis, mediocris, and congestus. Cumulonimbus are in the cumulus family and consist of such formations as cumulonimbus calvus, cumulonimbus with pileus, cumulonimbus capillitus, and cumulonimbus incus. Cirrus clouds are those "thin and wispy" looking clouds way up in the troposphere. They are the highest cloud formation.

What are the four general families of clouds?

The four general families of clouds are cirrus (high-level clouds), cumulus (mid-level clouds), stratus (low-level clouds), and nimbus (vertical clouds that produce precipitation). Each family is categorized based on their appearance and altitude in the atmosphere.

What are the names of the four kinds of clouds?

Clouds are divided into two general categories: layered and convective. These are named stratus clouds (or stratiform, the Latin stratus means "layer") and cumulus clouds (or cumuliform; cumulus means "piled up"), respectively. These two cloud types are divided into four more groups that distinguish the cloud's altitude. Clouds are classified by the cloud base height, not the cloud top. This system was proposed by Luke Howard in 1802 in a presentation to the Askesian Society. High clouds (Family A) * Cirrocumulus * Cirrus cloud * Cirrostratus Middle clouds (Family B) * Altostratus * Altocumulus Low clouds (Family C) These are found up to 2,000 m (6,500 feet) and include the stratus (dense and grey). When stratus clouds contact the ground, they are called fog. Clouds in Family C include: * Cumulus (Cu) * Cumulus humilis ** Cumulus mediocris * Stratocumulus (Sc) * Nimbostratus (Ns) * Stratus (St) Vertical clouds (Family D) These clouds can have strong up-currents, rise far above their bases and form at many heights. Clouds in Family D include: * Cumulonimbus (associated with heavy precipitation and thunderstorms) (Cb) * Cumulonimbus calvus ** Cumulonimbus incus ** Cumulonimbus with mammatus * Cumulus (Cu) * Cumulus congestus * Pyrocumulus Other clouds A few clouds can be found above the troposphere; these include noctilucent and polar stratospheric clouds (or nacreous clouds), which occur in the mesosphere and stratosphere respectively. Some clouds form as a consequence of interactions with specific geographical features. Perhaps the strangest geographically-specific cloud in the world is Morning Glory, a rolling cylindrical cloud which appears unpredictably over the Gulf of Carpentaria in Northern Australia. Associated with a powerful "ripple" in the atmosphere, the cloud may be "surfed" in glider aircraft.

Which two cloud forms are found in the middle cloud family?

Altocumulus and altostratus are the two cloud forms found in the middle cloud family. Altocumulus clouds are white or gray with rounded masses, while altostratus clouds are thin and gray, often covering the entire sky and causing diffuse light.
