The vector energy of an object in motion is Ev=mcv. The total energy is E=Er + Ev where Er is the potential energy or real energy. The total energy is E=Er +Ev or the quaternion energy. For example the energy of the earth relative to the sun is E=-mu/r + mcv, where mu/r the gravitational potential energy.

Newton and Einstein in their gravitational theories left out the energy in motion mcv. This energy has now being called "dark energy" or " cosmological constant".

Does an object in motion have more energy than on object at rest?

Objects in motion have kinetic energy and objects at rest have potential energy. Whether or not the object in motion has more energy than the same object at rest or vice versa depends on specific circumstances. It depends on the speed of the object in motion.
