Fossils are used by scientists to answer questions about species and maybe even dinosaurs. They use the fossils and run tests by using there DNA and seeing their molecular structure and running it by other animals for similarity's.
They are used to work out what extinct animals looked like, also they are used to see how long ago those animals died out.
