Some spots on glass shower doors are caused by etching of the glass by cleaning chemicals such as soap. Soap is alkaline and can therefore etch or "eat into" glass. Some spots are a buildup of lime. For these a wash down with vinegar can sometimes help. There are some products available to coat glass to reduce spot maks and etching. Some are designed for use before the spotting has ocurred to ptotect the glass, and others to fill in the rough patches. To help prevent the spotting of glass, use a squeegee (with a rubber blade like a window wiper) to remove water drops from glass after showering. This removes the water and soap so that the glass is not exposed to the alkaline action for too long in one location. Steel wool. #0000 super fine. If that doesn't do it, and if you can't live with it, replace the glass.
A magnifying glass is made to allow people to see small things enlarged. Strong magnifying glasses can help you see things invisible to the naked eye.

Lightning rod and glass harmonica
Amazingly the harmonica is the best selling instrument in the world. this is because its so easy to play, and (pretty sure) it doesn't need tuning.

Sound is produced from a glass harmonica by rubbing moistened fingers along the edge of glass bowls of different sizes and pitches. This friction creates vibrations in the glass, producing sound waves that we hear as music. The instrument's unique design allows for a haunting and ethereal sound quality.

Benjamin Franklin invented the glass harmonica in 1761 to create a new musical instrument that utilized the soothing sounds of glass. Inspired by the musical glasses, he sought to improve the design for better sound quality and playability. The glass harmonica allowed musicians to play melodies by rubbing their fingers on rotating glass bowls of varying sizes, producing a unique and ethereal sound that captivated audiences. Franklin's invention showcased his interest in both music and science, blending artistry with innovation.
Yes it is still used today by elderly people.
The harmonica ----- Benjamin Franklin invented an instrument called the glass harmonica, which is rarely seen today and is not related to the harmonica we commonly see and hear played. Franklin's harmonica was based on earlier designs consisting of sets of glasses, partly filled with water, that were rubbed with a wet finger. It consisted of a series of crystal glass hemispheres, mounted on a shaft that went through their centers. When the shaft was turned, the hemispheres rotated, and a wet finger applied to make them sound. Unlike the glasses, which were tuned by filling with varying amounts of water, the harmonica hemispheres were tuned at the time they were made, according to their size. There is a link below to the section on Franklin's instrument in an article on the glass harmonica.
There is no specific term. They are musicians who play the "glass harmonica" or the "hydrocrystalophone." The sound is produced using a wet finger running the circumference of graduated glass sizes, tunes by both size and amount of water in each. Simply you would say, "He plays the glass harmonica."
