Humans are the only cause of artificial selection. Humans take organisms that they think are useful, or may become useful and they breed them true for traits they want in the organism and they cull the organisms that do not possess traits that humans find useful. not all animals can be artificially selected though.

How is natural selection used in artificial selection?

Natural variation in artificial selection is used because humans choose from among the naturally occurring variation s in species. Natural selection is related to species fitness because Darwin called natural selection survival of the fittest because those that could survive would carry their species on there for being the naturally selected.

Adaptation which allows for natural selection is called?

Adaptation does not allow for natural selection: natural selection causes adaptation.

Is artificial selection an agent of evolutionary change?

NO. Both artificial and natural selection are forms of Evolution in general. Both cause variation by selection within a particular population. The only difference is who is doing the selection, humans or nature.

Humans have countered natural selection by medically correcting phenotypes?

Humans have countered natural selection through hybrid breeding. Even crossing a male donkey with a female horse produces a mule. Crossing certain corn strains with other corn strains to produce more grain per ear.

How did artificial selection influence Darwins thinking?

Maybe u should actually answer because i'm to tupid to know the answer/ The artificial selection although controlled by the choices of humans created novelty in the races. During natural selection the environment is responsible for selecting the best types. Darwin's ideas of natural selection were based on the fact of struggle for existence and survival of the fittest. Thus by artificial selection some of the races have been developed which can sustain the present environmental conditions. this has contributed to his ideas.

What is the application of natural selection theory to human society?

Sociobiology is the application of natural selection to human society Humans are the product of natural selection at the individual level and the product of evolution at the population level, so the human generated society is influenced by the natural selection of individual humans.

Natural selection in humans?

Yes, it happens, but what is your question?

How the idea of artificial selection contributed to Darwin and idea on natural selection?

The concept of artificial selection, where humans selectively breed plants or animals for desired traits, helped Darwin understand the process of natural selection. He realized that if humans could influence changes in species through selective breeding, then nature could also act as a selective force, leading to the survival of organisms best suited to their environment. This insight informed Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection, where the environment naturally selects for characteristics that provide a reproductive advantage.

How do alleles influence natural selection?

It's the other way around: natural selection is the natural process that causes the frequencies of occurence of alleles in the population gene pool to shift.

How are natural and artifical selection different?

Natural selection is the process of selection imposed by pressures from the environment. It has no conscious guidance or purpose, but simply selects for a population best suited to survive in the current environment.Artificial selection is the process of selection consciously imposed by humans selecting which individuals breed. This can be considered a subset of natural selection, if one considers humans as just another part of the environment other creatures must live in.

How did humans come to exist according to Darwin?

They evolved by a process of natural selection.

Which is not a way in which natural selection affects the distributions of phenotypes?

Mutation is not a way in which natural selection affects the distributions of phenotypes. Mutations introduce new genetic variations, which can then be acted upon by natural selection to influence the distribution of phenotypes within a population.

What are the different types of selection in evolution and how do they influence the adaptation of species over time?

There are three main types of selection in evolution: natural selection, sexual selection, and artificial selection. Natural selection occurs when certain traits help individuals survive and reproduce better than others, leading to those traits becoming more common in a population over time. Sexual selection involves traits that increase an individual's chances of mating and passing on their genes. Artificial selection is when humans intentionally breed organisms with specific traits for desired outcomes. These types of selection influence the adaptation of species by shaping their genetic makeup and increasing their chances of survival and reproduction in their environment.

How is natural selection used in artificial selection?

Natural selection is related to species fitness because Darwin called natural selection survival of the fittest because those that could survive would carry their species on there for being the naturally selected.

Where are humans going?

Nowhere predictable. Natural selection reacts to things that happen; there is no plan to it. Humans are not developing along any lines.
