The answer varies widely, and depends on the individual. Some are asleep

as soon as their heads hit the pillow, while others toss and turn all night and

never actually fall asleep. So the answer is: It ranges from zero to all night.

"Normal", that is, a person with proper diet and exercise and no sleep problem,

is generally considered to be somewhere in the range of 10 to 20 minutes.
