Jack Swigert was the backup Command Module Pilot for Apollo 13. That means he would have flown on Apollo 16. His training was not as intense as the training received by Ken Mattingly, the Apollo 13 prime Command Module Pilot. However, his training was sufficient enough that he was able to perform admirably following the oxygen tank explosion. In fact, he did everything that was expected of a CMP.
