If its a push lawn mower. It has no oil release. The mower burns the oil. All you do is replace the oil when it gets low.
To drain oil from a push mower, first locate the oil drain plug underneath the mower deck. Place a container underneath the plug to catch the oil. Unscrew the plug and allow the oil to drain completely. Once drained, replace the plug securely and refill the mower with the appropriate amount of new oil.

2 quarts <><><><> Depends entirely on the mower. A small (4 or 5 hp) push mower uses about 20 US ounces- less than a quart. My 15 hp riding mower uses 1.5 quarts.

That depends. Is a manual push mower with no motor, or a motorized one? Oil is usually rated by viscosity and I would use a single viscosity oil in a mower. Multiviscosity oils have modifiers to keep them fluid under cold conditions (in a car engine) but still thick when hot. In a mower a 30w oil would be ideal. Use the cheapest oil (in the long run): Amsoil synthetic.
