I find this to be a very strange assertion, that science is bad for your life, since science has given us many very useful and enjoyable things, such as the computers with which we are having this discussion. People who do not like science should not be posting questions on websites, they should be using much more primitive means of communication. However, it may be that in the end, science is taking us in the wrong direction. If there is a global nuclear war, we may all be killed by very advanced military technology that could not exist without science. Or possibly global warming will proceed to a catastrophic extent, and again, all those internal combustion engines and coal fired power plants (etc.) would not have existed without science. So in that sense, perhaps science will eventually prove to be bad for our lives. The final verdict is not yet in.

While science is most often beneficial to society, it can also provide us with the understanding to produce toxins and weapons that can allow some people in society to destroy others (be it through military or terrorist means).

For example, the study of neurochemical processes and chemistry provided us with substances such as the organophosphate insecticides. However, study of these substances, and modification of them, provided us with even stronger and more deadly nerve agents, such as Sarin, Soman, VX, etc., which have been used by military forces and terrorists to kill people.
