Sound can only occur where there is "matter". It is created by the atoms of the matter vibrating against each other in a wave form. This can occur where ever there is matter; air, wood, water, metal etc. It can not occur where there is no matter; space, a vacuum.

How are sound and light energy alike?

Sound is made out of waves and Light is made out of things called wave-particles and are kind of like waves, but not always. But if you mean Sound energy and Light energy I don't really know wat you mean with Sound energy

Which is strongest light energy or sound energy?

Both can be made strong, or not so strong.

What do scientists call the energy of a sound wave?

Sound is a form of energy derived from moving objects. Vibrations in air made by moving objects create sound waves.

Why is sound made when you slam the door?

Because when you slam the door the door makes vibrations and sounds are made by vibrations.

What is sound energy made of?

Sound energy is a form of energy produced by vibrations that travel through a medium such as air, water, or solid materials. These vibrations create pressure waves that our ears can detect as sound.

Is sound energy a form of stored energy?

No. Sound can't be stored. It's made, it propagates, it dissipates.

What is the sound made by an explosion called?

The sound made by an explosion is called a blast. It is characterized by a sudden release of energy creating a loud and intense noise.

Is a radio a sound energy?

A radio produces sound, and therefore sound energy. The radio waves, however, are electromagnetic energy, not sound. The function of a radio is to convert that electromagnetic energy into sound energy.

Is sound energy kinetic energy?

Yes, sound energy is kinetic energy.

Is sound and light made up of matter?

Sound is not made up of matter; it is a disturbance that travels through a medium, such as air or water. Light, on the other hand, is made up of electromagnetic waves, which are forms of energy rather than matter.

Why does the energy of a sound decrease over time?

Sound travels spherically from where it was made. If energy is to be conserved a sphere of an earlier point will have a higher flux density than one from a later point.

A form of energy made when matter vibrates?

Sound energy is produced when matter vibrates. This vibration creates waves that travel through a medium, such as air or water, and are interpreted by our ears as sound.
