There are a lot of nerve endings in your feet and hands so they are very likely to get cold. When, you warm them then your whole body will be warmer because they were the coldest part of your body.

Anything with lots of air pockets does not let heat through easily, so newspaper, cotton wool etc. are good in keeping things warm. They neither let heat out or in, so they keep the warmer thing warm and the cooler thing cool!

You sure can!! Before they came out labeled as Candle Warmers we were all using our coffee warmers as candle warmers. I have a "candle warmer" warming my coffee as I type. If you read the fine print it says do not use to warm food or beverages, however I have never had a problem. I'm pretty sure they mean don't try to use it as a hotplate.
