A tar pit, or more accurately known as an asphalt pit or asphalt lake, is a geological occurrence where subterranean bitumen leaks to the surface, creating a large area of natural asphalt.[1][2]

The La Brea Tar Pits (or Rancho La Brea Tar Pits) are a cluster of tar pits around which Hancock Park was formed, in the urban heart of Los Angeles. Asphaltum or tar (brea in Spanish) has seeped up from the ground in this area for tens of thousands of years. The tar is often covered with water. Over many centuries, animals that came to drink the water fell in, sank in the tar, and were preserved as bones. The George C. Page Museum is dedicated to researching the tar pits and displaying specimens from the animals that died there. The La Brea Tar Pits are now a registered National Natural Landmark.
From thickest to thinnest: lava, tar, honey, then water.
Amber, Permafrost, and Tar.
Tar is harder to pour because their are more particles in a smaller quatity of liquid.Think of this: just like tar particles, its harder to get threough a mall that is packed than one that is empty.

To take a pygmy's head off in Pocket God, buy the tar pit. Every once and-a-while, a skeleton hand will come up. Hold you pygmy right above the tar pit but don't drop it in. Wait for the skeleton hand to grab your pygmy, but don't drop it! Keep pulling the pygmy away from the pit. Eventually the head of the pygmy will come off.
