Let's start with the teabag; it has a partially permeable membrane, thus allows the water to pass through its walls without allowing the tea to do so. So what happens is that some water goes into the bag, which creates a very concentrated solution of teawithin the bag walls. This creates a concentration gradient, and osmosis occurs, which causes more water molecules to flow into the bag getting remixed and if left, the process will continue until the concentration of tea is the same throughout the entire containing vessel (mug/glass/teapot or what have you). This happens also by diffusion throughoutthe vessel, after the osmosis takes place, whereby the tea solution outside the bag diffuses equally throughout the container, to reach equilibrium. finally by lifting the teabag, filtration takes place, as the water from inside the bag is separated from the tea within it.
