Ideally, all accepted facts would be absolutely, irrefutably true. However, mistakes are sometimes made and accepted facts can be disproved.
I guess, technically, no "fact" is ever truly irrefutable, as anyone can try to disprove the findings of another person. (They can attempt to refute it.)
